(i feel like) lovecraft in brooklyn

Thank god everyone here is nice.  Waterworks was such a family, it would be terrible to move on to something awful. * Bad thing about having the DJ set up behind the bar - can’t get out easily to dance with people.  Nice thing about having the DJ set up behind the bar - dudes can’t grab me.  And I hate that it’s a concern, but ugh when strange guys put their hand on your shoulder and whisper in your ear ask for a request it’s the worst.  Also, I don’t feel that girly tonight, but I will usually be presenting as female and I still feel a bit strange about switching back and forth while trying to build a following so I felt the need to dress feminine.  All I wanted was to pack and bind. :( * Overall Broomies RULES and I’m not saying that because I work here now.  So happy to find a local spot that is cool but not ‘too cool’ ifyaknowwhatImean.

I’m going to be DJing at Broomies tonight, my first DJ gig in New York. I’d love to see anyone I know, or anyone I don’t know IRL from Tumblr!  It’s an 80’s night, we’ll see how it goes, I’d like to suggest 90’s stuff as well. I should add this is ‘playlist DJing’ not scratching and the like, haha.  I do take requests provided it’s not the Smiths WUT
